Detsamma gäller för MC step-up trafos (nästan). Jag har alltid trott att primärlindningen skulle hänga fritt utan relation till signaljord. Detta ger visserligen en sann differentiell drift, men som sällan blir brum-fri.
Numera kopplar jag samman primäsidans jord med sekundärsidans jord. Det ger en absolut brumfriitt ljud, även med lågnivå MC puppa och högkänsliga högtalare.

Ps. Lägg även en 10K resistor tvärs över sekundärlindningen på optn (1/4 W räcker gott). Då behöver du inte krångla med konstlaster och dyl. om du behöver strömsätta steget för att startat upp det och mäta dc-nivåer mm.
Även risken att få ett induktivt spänningsöverslag, om en högtalar-sladd skulle ramla ut elimineras iom. detta förfarande.
Effekten som 10K stjäl är försumbar, relativt högtalarens 8 Ohm. Så det finns egentligen inga nackdelar med detta.
