Will Ray Bio
Few guitar pickers can out-slide, out-bend or out-torture a Telecaster the way Will Ray can. As a member of the pyrotechnical twang trio The Hellecasters, Will has created a place for himself among some of the world's guitar greats.
A native of Richmond, Virginia, Will began his musical journey at an early age when his older siblings would play records of Peter Paul & Mary, Leadbelly and Elvis. In high school Will discovered the Beatles, the Blues Project, Cream, the Grateful Dead and Paul Butterfield Blues Band while learning the guitar at age sixteen. After graduating from college he started playing in a string of local Richmond rock bands including Dry Ice, Mace, King Cotton and The Cold Harbor Band. In 1983 his new bride, Gayle, talked him into moving out west to California where he could play music full time and she could pursue her art.

Ray Bonneville Rough Luck
Great American bluesy roots. Hurt, Cale, Prine, Watson, Clapton. An American sound. The songs are real. Winner of a Juno Award - (the Canadian equivalent of a Grammy.)
NOTES Ray Bonneville calls his music " Been dipped in blues Americana "
His own style involves generating a tremendous amount of sound: laying down a surprisingly complex guitar groove, rock-solid footboard percussion, intricate but understated harmonica licks, and weathered vocals that are always cool but never aloof.
He often streamlines his touring act, accompanying himself on guitar, rack harmonica and footboard.
This same spare quality applies to the evocative songwriting that won Bonneville a 1999 Juno Award-the Canadian equivalent of a Grammy-for his third album, "Gust of Wind" (Stony Plain/Warner).
"Trimming down and taking away leaves room for the silence between the notes, " says Bonneville. "It allows listeners to put their own lives into the song. There can be more to a song than lyrics and notes... dust, heat, wind."
He's been in demand as a live performer for three decades, playing not only clubs and concert halls, but also such prestigious festivals as New Orleans Jazz & Heritage, Montreal Jazz, Kerrville, Toronto Harbourfront, Ottawa Folk, Strawberry, Winnipeg and Edmonton. http://cdbaby.com/cd/bonneville |
