Peter Mulvey - Kitchen Radio

A master songwriter and guitar god with deep grooves and bitty wit. Think Leo Kottke meets Dave Mattews

When he is home, Peter Mulvey begins his day as many people do, with the news of the day pouring out of the radio on his kitchen counter. Where that leads him, though, is the real story here.

With Kitchen Radio, Mulvey's third album for Signature Sounds (his eighth overall and his first album of original material in four years - see Discography below), he has put the songwriting solidly front and center, and the result is a moving, deft portrait of a place where the personal and the worldwide intersect. Peter Mulvey and longtime writing partner and producer David "Goody" Goodrich set the mood with vibrant, often surprising musical ideas. Supported by an excellent band of Boston's musical veterans, Mulvey's Kitchen Radio is an album of original music performed with grit and abandon.

Peter Lang
Dharma Blues

Lang has returned to the Guitar Fold with Dharma Blues- an album that displays his fragile fingerpicking, vicious slide work, and an uncanny ability to mix his virtuostic technique with tenderness and soul GUITAR PLAYER MAGAZINE Shawn Hammond June 2002

"Lang is still firmly rooted in the 60s/70's John Fahey/Leo Kottke blues/folk/Americana styling that he helped pioneer, and it's certainly refreshing to hear it being played this well by one of the old masters . . . Let's hope it doesn't take Lang another 20 years to produce a follow-up" DIRTY LINEN, May 2003

PETER LANG was discovered and recorded in 1972 by the legendary guitarist John Fahey who signed Lang to his own label, Takoma Records. Fahey launched the careers of other notable artists on Takoma, including Leo Kottke, George Winston, Robbie Basho, Bola Sete and others. Peter Lang toured, recorded and performed for nearly ten years, developing a reputation as one of the nations top acoustic players. In the 70's he was in good company, having recorded or performed with Ry Cooder, John Fahey, Jerry Garcia, Chet Atkins, John Hartford, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Emmylou Harris, Leo Kottke, Freddie King, The Paul Butterfield Blues Band, John Hammond, Keith Jarrett, Phoebe Snow, Maria Muldaur, The Yellowjackets, Robben Ford, and many others. Long considered one of America's premier finger-style guitarists, Lang returned to music after a 20 year hiatus from recording and performing with his critically acclaimed album DHARMA BLUES, in 2001. During his separation from writing and recording, Lang managed an Animation Studio and produced films and commercials. His vocation allowed him to continue to use his talents producing national spots for companies including MTV, COKE, HERSHEY'S, TIME, TARGET

Antonio Restucci
Crisol

Antonio Restucci masterfully blends the sounds of Spain, North & South America, India and the Middle East into a unique style of Latin Jazz or World Fusion that might appropriately be called Contemporary Gypsy Jazz Fusion.

Antonio Restucci was born in Santiago, Chile in 1956. A guitar and mandolin virtuoso, Antonio began his career at the age of 15, recording his first LP with Brazilian composer Manduka. In 1986, his band La Hebra won Radio Beethoven's Best Latin Jazz Band award. He toured Europe for several years playing with Amalgama, Maria del Mar Bonet and Joan Manuel Serrat, all of whom influenced his work. In Chile, he participated in several projects along with local musicians Joe Vasconcellos, Francesca Ancarola, and Los Tres, with whom he traveled to the US to record an MTV Unplugged program.

Antonio has developed his own unique contemporary composition style, blending the folk sounds of his South American roots with Flamenco and Classical Spanish guitar, Latin Jazz and Jazz Rock. He has recorded five solo CDs prior to his debut with Petroglyph Records and has been influencial on many others. He has been recognized as one of the best musicians in Chile. In 1998, Restucci was named Best Guitarist of the Decade by Sociedad del Derecho de Autor (SCD). In 2000, he won the Altazor Award for his album "Vetas" as the best "Jazz-Alternative Record" of the year.
