Thank you Ekman,
I really respect Jeff Rowland designs. I met the guy some years ago and surely he has an interesting profile.
During so many Club meetings and High End Shows I have attended, I did not find any other amplifier to combine strength, accuracy and musicallity at the same time. I would say Rowland is an amplifier with authority and this is why is regarded as the "Rolls Royce" in this field. If you will see the way it is built, you 've got another thing coming!
I have it for 7 years now, and I have only updated it to "model 8T". (Changing modules with new ones having input transformers)
Enjoy the music |

strength accuracy and musicality that sounds like Krell to me =) hehe
ive never heard any rowland products sadly enough i dont think they have any retailers in Sweden however if they sound half as good as they look then krell is in for some serious competition |

Dear Ekman,
I don't know what amplifier do you own but every Krell owner having heard my Rowland says that Krell's sound is much colder than Rowland's which is fuller and warmer and much more detailed in the extreme frequencies.
Personally, I believe that Krell's sound is even inferior to equivalent Pass Labs designs as well (see my http://aca.gr/equip03.htm review), as for JFRD comparissons with Krell, I think Rowlands have a class of their own, combining the virtues of the best Valve and the Best SS amplifiers around.
Cheers

If you compare the Rowland sound versus the Accuphase? Whats the differences? Would be nice hearing a Rowland amp sometimes.
Ohh.. and do the Rowlands operative in Klass A?

I though Accuphase is inferior to all of the above but then, this is my personal feeling - I did not compare any of the above with the same system set-up as you probably imagine. Amplifier vs. speaker combination is a matter of personal taste after all and there are so many choices available that really I can't tell.
As far as Rowland vs. Krell, driving difficult loads such as Apogees, there is an informative post in the Apogee Acoustics Users Group Forum at: http://audioworld.com/sw/Forum1/HTML/001898.html ____________________________________

I would pay 6,000 Euro for a second hand 8T model.

well seeing since i havent heard any JRDG products as of yet krell will have to remain my reference =) i dont understand how people can find krell to be cold? i think they have a nice little touch of warmth in them ive heard that rowland are supposed to be even warmer but never that the new krell models are anything but warm? strange =) would be interesting to compare your rowland amp with a pair of krell 450mcx and an accuphase m2000 or something like that |
