Tresa Sauer - Groovin' Up Slowly

Tresa Sauer applies her engaging vocals to a variety of composers from Lennon/McCartney to Cole Porter to Bob Marley, backed by elite Twin Cities jazz musicians.

With an evocative vocal style favoring tastefully-intelligent restraint over flash, Tresa Sauer has a cool, but undeniable passion that can tease, warm, caress, and question. Choosing her material from a rich variety of sources, selections include the Beatles' "Come Together," a pair of Bacharach compositions, some standards as re-considered by Sauer, and a wistful twist on Bob Marley's "Waiting in Vain." This is the work of a singer not limited by musical eras and focuses on what she can bring to a song. Not surprisingly, her debut recording "Groovin' Up Slowly" (Cry Out Loud / 2005 ) was chosen by Mpls/St. Paul Magazine for inclusion in its 2005 year-end guide to the "Best of the Twin

Kelly Eisenhour
Now You Know

A collection of original jazz and classic standards with a twist. Great arrangements with sultry, sophisticated, yet soulful vocals. Keith Lockhart, conductor of the Boston Pops says "...she's the real thing."

Kelly Eisenhour, a graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston, has been a professional singer since the age of 19. After spending time singing in Boston and Las Vegas for many years, she is currently a regular on the Salt Lake City jazz scene including a number of stints as guest soloist with the Utah Symphony, opening act for Ramsey Lewis at the International Park City Jazz Festival, soloist with the Salt Lake Symphonic Choir, and featured act at the Salt Lake City Jazz Festival. Ms. Eisenhour has two recordings; "Now You Know," a collection of original jazz and favorite standards, and "Kelly Eisenhour with the Jeff Hamilton Trio," recorded at Capitol Studios in Los Angeles. In spring of 2001, Ms. Eisenhour toured as guest soloist with the famous Boston Pops, and in 2002-03 finished an 18 month engagement as featured back up singer in the Gladys Knight Show at the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas, and was the Assistant Director and co-arranger in Gladys Knight's gospel choir "Saints Unified Voices." Ms. Eisenhour values her work as a jazz educator, and is currently the Vocal Jazz Instructor at Brigham Young University, directing two vocal jazz choirs and teaching private vocal jazz lessons and vocal jazz improvisation.

Belinda Underwood
Underwood Uncurling

Fresh renditions of timeless jazz standards and deeply revealing jazz originals. Sultry, hypnotic vocals and vocal improv; frank, emotional original lyrics; all-star cast of musicians including Airto Moreira, David Friesen, and members of Pink Martini.

Belinda's first exposures to music occurred five nights a week while she was captive in her jazz-pianist-mother's womb. With birth, the nightly exposure continued while she napped under the piano in a car seat.

After a childhood of violin lessons, harp lessons, orchestras and choirs, music became her choice when she fell in love with the upright bass at age sixteen. In high school she traveled as a bass player (on scholarship) to Australia with the Monterey Jazz Festival Honor Band, and in college she played and traveled with the UC Berkeley Wednesday Band. Singing professionally didn't occur to her until years later when she was playing the bass at the Jazz School in Berkeley. "It was hard for me sometimes to translate my musical thoughts onto the bass during improvisation. There were lines in my head but my fingers couldn't find them fast enough, and rather than get frustrated during practice, I would just SING the bass solo."

Eileen Howard
All Kinds of Weather

Sultry, smooth jazz vocals and up-tempo swinging straight-ahead jazz, with fresh interpretations and arrangements.

Eileen Howard, a popular Columbus, Ohio actor and singer, debuts her first CD of jazz standards, recorded with the Erik Augis Trio, solidifying her 15-year reputation as an outstanding singer.

Howard recorded nine jazz standards on her CD "All Kinds of Weather" with Erik Augis on keys, Derek DiCenzo on bass and Matt Wagner on drums. Arrangements by Augis and Howard give the songs a fresh and unique feel.
