Jerry "Boogie" McCain - This Stuff Just Kills Me
No one plays a harp or sings the blues quite like Jerry "Boogie" McCain; backed by a stellar rythm section, Jerry's accompanied by a lineup of gues musicians including Johnnie Johnson, Anson Funderburgh and Jimmie Vaughn.
Jerry "Boogie" McCain is the greatest post war harp player alive today. In 2001 he remains at the height of his powers, constantly writing and delivering amazing live performances with the energy of a teenager. Born in 1930 in Gadsden, Alabama, Jerry began playing his harp and singing along with jukebox records at his fathers barbecue stand, the Green Front Cafe. He began recording in the early 50s for the Trumpet label making records of his unique blend of country swing and down-home blues. In 55 he recorded for the Excello label and he has continued making great records in the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s and 2002 Jerry is working on his next project, "Boogie is my Name."

".....one of the most original voices of Brazilian flavored contemporary guitar." Jazziz
Over the past fifteen years, Ricardo Silveira has earned a reputation as one of Brazil's premiere international musicians. Born in Rio, the master guitarist grew up listening to bossa nova, samba and the steamy rhythms of Carnaval.
In the late '70s Silveira attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he began long lasting friendships with fellow guitarists Pat Metheny and Bill Frisell. He soon relocated to New York to record and perform with the likes of Herbie Mann, Sonny Fortune and John Hassell. He joined Mann's band and toured with him for several years.

Antoinette Montague Pretty Blues
Jazz Vocalist , great blues and swing
Pretty Blues is not a "garden variety" release of standards. No, It's a precisely chosen mix of ballads, blues and swing. Whith her song selection, Antoinette creates a mood that lets you know that what she has is special. Every selection is personal and a tribute to her mentors and to those who influenced her musically. And her mentors include the legendary Carrie Smith and our late, beloved Etta Jones.
A lesser singer might have shied away from recording songs taht are so indentified with others, but not Antoinette. I can listen to her renditions of "Dedicated to You" , "Teach Me Tonight", and "At Last", without longing to hear the versions by Johnny Hartman, Etta Jones or Etta James.
Humility and excellence is what Antoinette brings to her debut recording. It has been a long time coming but it was worth the wait.
