Nu blir sommar - Svenska visor - Swedish traditional songs

This recording contains some of the most popular and beautiful Swedish songs. Originally performed by the troubadour composers themselves, here the songs have been transformed into intimate vocal-piano renditions. While the arrangements contain subtle jazz skills, they mostly portray the infinite possibilities of the beautiful Scandinavian melodies and the tradition of story-telling.

Rachael Indigo
Written In Stone

Poetic Rock.

Rolling Stone Interview with Rachael Indigo:

RS: Describe your style of music.

RI: Poetic rock, a.k.a. "Jewel with balls".

RS: What's the Rachael Indigo Experience like?

RI: Imagine something like Andrew Dice Clay meets Tori Amos. It's a no-holds-barred lyrical attack with throaty vocals and confessional writing. I'm on an angry path towards peace.

We are making a stew of 90s washed up, passé, jaded, sold-out,wannabe-poetic whores, and feeding it to the flannel-shirt-wearing, no-bra, harry-armpit 'liger'. A liger is a cross between a lion, a tiger and a dyke; bread for its skills in magic and sloppy, psuedo-goth, pop lyrics. See also: Alanis Morissette.

RS: What is a live Rachael Indigo concert really like?

RI: It is an experience, and unforgettable ride into the collective subconscious, an indelible and tumultous ride on the cosmic dragon.

Amy Courts

With passionately evocative vocals fueled by driving instrumentals and insightful lyrics, Amy Courts weaves life into music captivating
audiences with a heart-on-her-sleeve vulnerability.

NOTES
BIOGRAPHY
She’s nothing you’ve ever heard, but still somehow familiar. With intense vocals and driving instrumentals, her songs weave life into lyrics in a unique but relatable way. Songs like "Barely Breathing" and "Save Me" chronicle break-ups and fall-downs and prayers for change, which escalate into hopeful tales of life unhindered by circumstance in songs like "There is Nothing Better" and "Free." With a voice reminiscent of Jennifer Knapp and Patty Griffin and musical stylings similar to Sarah McLachlan and Sixpence None the Richer, Amy Courts' sound collectively offers something recognizable but wholly refreshing and unique. Honest and vulnerable, relevant and insightful, her songs set real life to music.

Rebecca Loebe
Hey, it's a Lonely World

Acoustic folk-influenced original songs to think, feel, and sing along to.

Everybody leaving a Rebecca Loebe performance is either a friend or a fan. The energetic presentation of her original songs makes a personal connection, describing everyday events and emotions with touching poetry and powerful honesty. Quirky effervescence one minute and smoky angst the next, Rebecca's friendly, alluring and comfortable presence on stage can only be attributed to her years of performance experience. Rebecca first appeared on the Atlanta club and coffeehouse scene at the age of fifteen, and has been hooked ever since.

Determined and driven, Rebecca graduated high school early in order to study music and sound engineering. Living in Boston, she is currently performing to enthusiastic, receptive crowds at clubs, colleges and coffeehouses up and down the east coast.
