Fick detta via TNT mailservice.
Tänkte det mer som rolig läsning, inte ett debattinlägg Rolig för att man håller med brevskrivaren eller roligt för att man tycker han är trångsynt. Eller bara roligt !! quote: The following description of a very expensive "vibration control device" was taken from a manufacturer's brochure. The description was under the title "How it works." The product costs between $100 and $200 per device depending on which one you "need". And you have to buy three or four of them *per component*.
The XXXX technology is based on direct coupling for effective transfer of sound interfering resonance. Fast resonance transfer is provided by extreme hard high-tech ceramic balls. Combined with precision machined materials like stainless steel or aluminum the optimum balance between damping and deflection is achieved. The resulting vacuum effect draws off unwanted resonance directly where it evolves. The clear advantage: no resonance build-up, no overdamping, no loss of deflection. The XXXX technology improves the sound wherever sound-impairing resonance restricts the musicality.
But what does it mean?
"direct coupling for effective transfer of sound interfering resonance" -- Gotta get rid of that resonance! Which resonance is sound interfering, it's transferred from where, and to where?
"fast resonance transfer" -- Faster is better, right?
"precision machined materials" -- Permission to cost a lot.
"optimum balance between damping and deflection" -- Unexplained pseudo-science.
"vacuum effect" -- Impressive pseudo-terminology.
"vacuum effect draws off unwanted resonance" -- Magic: it can tell the difference between wanted and "unwanted" resonance.
"draws off unwanted resonance directly where it evolves" -- Evolves? Maybe they meant "draws off unwanted resonance directly from the source" but got carried away with the prose. So how do I position a device at the source, say, at my cartridge's cantilever, or underneath a resonant wooden floor, or perhaps underneath a wall causing a particular room mode?
"no overdamping" -- Sounds good, I'll take two.
"no loss of deflection" -- Oops, forget about deflection! Must be a good thing to not lose any, though, so I'll take two more.
I read this in a brochure at a friend's house. I started to break out laughing part way through. A physicist friend asked me what was so funny, so I gave him the brochure. He couldn't keep from laughing either. The accompanying diagrams were even more entertaining.

Som sagt, sen kommer det nån nisse och säger "det är inte alls kul, det funkar!!!!" och sen utvecklas det hela till en diskussion om att man måste testa ALLT innan man kan uttala sig om det.

Japp ! Därav detta,

Förstärker det lite
