Nye modeller fra The Transfiguration.

Axia

As the new Axia is new-generation cartridge - to be one of the ultimate cartridges for the analogue era, its physical presentation is ideally reinforce those very special claims for it. There are physical distinctive features, both cosmetic and functional, which set the rulit apart from all other contenders.

Design Concept:
Utilising a double-ring-neodymium-magnet for a moving coil cartridge has enabled six unique design improvements:

Just two coils within double ring 'neodymium' magnets.
No Yokes.
No magnetic irregularities.
Coils at the crux of the magnetic focus.
Intimate coil/magnet coupling.
Simple resonance-free beautiful body design.

Technical Details:

No yokes

The 2 'neodymium' magnets and freedom from yokes enable the coils to be placed directly within the magnetic field. Not just close, but literally right inside. The detail is never masked by rising dynamics and sharp subtleties.

Anti resonance cartridge body

The solid non-resonant body with 'deeply cut-away sides' utilises both shape and material to create a totally inert environment for the electromagnetic elements. These elements are more effectively insulated from tonearm, turntable and tracing noises. further reducing ffi1Y tonal colourations of the music and lessening the intrusion of distracting mechanical noises.

Twin 'silver' coils on the cantilever fulcrum

Minimises dynamic mass and 'mechanical impedance'. enabling instant, accurate reaction to every groove detail, including the ability to handle massive transients without overshoot or break-up.

Push pull damping

A special compound has been meticulously designed and fabricated to provide total stylus/coil alignment and control. Its non-sensitivity to temperature change keeps the damping coefficient stable and improves tracing accuracy.

Special alloy core for assembly

Increases sensitivity by 23dB, improves signal to noise ratio eliminating a usual source of distortion.

Low mass tip

Ogura PA (3 x 30pm) tip shares many of the advantages of the flagship Me cartridge "The Orpheus". Its function is to reproduce the character of the original recorded sound- not add or subtract its own deficiencies.

Cartridge mount

The body looks highly specialised, very purpose-designed very Ul1compromised in its intentions to be a premium product. Mechanically it locates the cartridge on a plane which provides least variation in tracking angle relative to tonearm movement.

Phoenix
Rising above the price/performance curve.
The Absolute Sound 2007 Editor's Choice Award Winner!

Following fast on the heels of the spectacular new Orpheus and employing many of the lessons learned during the development of that cartridge, Immutable Music introduces the new Phoenix. The performance leap, when compared with the Spirit Mk. 3 is similar to that experienced between the Orpheus and the Temper series. In fact, in the areas of transparency and resolution, the Phoenix even challenges the Tempers, which cost nearly twice as much. Germany's Stereoplay magazine has ranked the new Phoenix in its "Absolute Spitzenklasse," the absolute top class, along with a very few great cartridges, including the Orpheus and the Lyra Titan I, all of which cost far more than its suggested price of $2500.

The Phoenix brings an exciting, full-bodied sound with tremendous rhythm and bass impact. With a sparkle on top that never sounds too hot, it may be the perfect cartridge for jazz and classical music lovers. The double-ring-magnet construction ensures the usual Transfiguration musical coherence and phase-linearity, which presents a seamless view into the musical performance. The Phoenix delivers performance at its price-point that was unachievable by any cartridge at any price, even just a few years ago.

Just as the Orpheus advanced the absolute state-of-the-art in what was possible with a phono cartridge in terms of musically natural reproduction of the analog LP, the new Phoenix re-defines what is possible in its price class (and considerably far above it). The Phoenix is the new price/performance leader in the areas of transparency, timbre, bass-impact and articulation...oh, yes, and in the all important JPF factor (Just Plain Fun).

The huge gains in musical performance by both the Phoenix and the Orpheus over cartridges already recognized as world-leaders in their respective price ranges is both gratifying and encouraging at a time when analog playback seems stronger and more healthy than ever, at a time when digital playback seems almost in search of an identity. At a time when the average listener to digital (the ubiquitous ipod listener) is accepting a significant reduction in sound quality from even redbook CD, LP lovers are discovering new worlds in the same old grooves they have been listening to for over half a century.

We are very grateful to Mr. Yoshioka and the other pioneers of the new analog era, for bringing us closer to the emotion and experience of live music than we dreamed possible a few years back, when reports of the death of analog circulated, apparently, prematurely#8230;

Technical details
1. Push pull damping
A special compound has newly been meticulously designed and fabricated to provide total stylus/coil alignment and control. It's non-sensitivity to temperature change keeps the damping coefficient stable and improbes tracing accuracy.
2. Twin coils on the cantilever fulcrum
Minimises dynamic mass and mechanical impedance, enabling instant, accurate reaction to every groove detail, including the ability to handle massive transients without overshoot or break-up.
3. Special alloy core for coil assembly
This increases sensitivity by 25dB, improves signal to noise ratio eliminating a usual source of distortion.
4. Neodymium magnet
Thanks to the much higher induced magnetism of the neodymium magnet in the rear of the double ring magnets, the coil-turns of the generator have been reduced. It is very helpful to reduce the internal impedance to 7 ohms, which contributes to the improvement in the solidarity with transparency.
5. Low mass tip
Ogura PA (3 x 30um) tip shares many of the advantages of the flagship MC cartridge "The Orpheus". Its function is to reproduce the character of the original recorded sound - not add or subtract its own deficiences.
6. Anti-resonance cartridge body
The solid cartridge body utilizes both shape and material to create a totally inert environment for the electromagnetic elements. These elements are more effectively insulated from arm, turntable and tracing noises, further reducing any tonal coloration of the music and lessening the illusion of distracting mechanical noises.

Orpheus...
Bringing music back to life.
Stereophile Class A recommended component!

When Mr. Yoshioka told us he was going to work on a new flagship cartridge, we expected it would be a little better than the already superb Tempers V and W. After all, how much room for improvement could there be with these cartridges that were so natural and so timbrally accurate? We had no idea. When the first Orpheus arrived, it was revelatory. Yes, it was a little better in every aspect of performance#8230;but the sum total of improvement in musicality and naturalness was overwhelming, causing us to redefine the way we listen to LP's. The Orpheus follows emotional and rhythmic surges and ebbs in music like no other cartridge we have ever heard. Observations and comments shift away from the sound to aspects of the performance. Still, after nearly a year, we are constantly surprised with the way the Orpheus draws us into the moment of the performance. Foot-tapping just happens, like being at a concert#8230;

How did he do it? First, he addressed resonance issues in the cartridge body, reducing them with a more massive, solid body. The new squared-off face also makes the cartridge a little easier to align with certain alignment systems. He then found an even better material for the so-very-important core of the moving coil itself. This higher-permeability material brings a level of transparency heretofore unachievable. Also, this core material seems to defy saturation, allowing the cartridge to reproduce such difficult high-frequency musical material as piccolo blasts with aplomb. Finally, he tightened the already very close tolerances between the coil assembly and the ring-magnet, inside which it sits. He also employed an even more powerful magnetic material, so that the net effect is a cartridge with massive dynamic range and resolution of instrumental detail that defies description. Output is almost as high as the Temper W, even though there are fewer windings on the coil and a lower internal impedance than the Temper V. All this allows for the seemingly contradictory substantial increase in musical resolution, while bringing an even more natural and relaxed perspective to the music. In sum, the Orpheus simply must be heard to be believed.

Technical Details

1. Unique ultra grade SS-µ-metal core for coil assembly
Newly developed ultra grade SS-µ-metal square core increases sensitivity by 35dB, improving the signal to noise ratio and eliminating a usual source of distortion.
2. Special 7N copper coils
A newly developed 7N copper wire used in the coils eliminates a common source of distortion and increases transparency.
3. Push-pull damping
A special quality compound has been meticulously designed and fabricated to provide total stylus/coil alignment and control. Its non-sensitivity to temperature change keeps the damping co-efficient stable and improve trackability.
4. Anti-resonance cartridge body shape.
A resonance controlled 'simple' design for lower tonal colouration and a new-generation image.
5. Boron cantilever
Newly developed rod for a more natural sound.
6. Low mass tip
Ogura PA (3 x 30um) tip. It's function is to reproduce the character of the original recorded sound - not add or subtract its own deficiencies.
7. Ultra tight magnet-coil coupling
The coils are not just close but literally right inside, with coil-magnet proximity of only a few thousandths of an inch. With the precision magnetic field focusing possible only with a ring magnet and superbly accurately wound coils, the ultra tight magnet-coil coupling enables far greater electromagnetic efficiency.
8. Dynamic mass minimized and coil saturation eliminated
Much faster, more accurate stylus response to groove formation. Rising dynamics or sharp transients never mask detail.
9. Twin coils on cantilever fulcrum
Ultra low dynamic mass and mechanical impedance for instant, accurate reaction to every groove detail, including the ability to handle massive transients without overshoot or break-up.
