Utgångstransformatorer sitter ju i dom flesta rörförstärkare (inte OTL) och är kanske den komponent som mest avgör hur denna förstärkare låter. Det går också att impedansmatcha utgångstransformatorn på dessa förstärkare genom att välja 2, 4, 8 eller 16 ohms lindningen. (alla har inte så många val) Tanken att göra en liknande lösning till transistorförstärkare låter ju rätt spännande. Att kunna impedansmatcha förstärkare och högtalare och minska den negativa effekten högtalaren har på förstärkaren.
