Joe Rathburn
Would You Please Welcome... Joe Rathburn Live at Dark Thirty

A superbly engineered DOUBLE CD set capturing a very intimate, yet high energy acoustic evening at a very fine venue, with Joe and the band letting the music do most of the talking.

Joe Rathburn is: thoughtful, uplifting, contagious, folk/rock, through great acoustic guitar, quirky vocals, and wry humor. His song The Dad I Had was picked from 140,000 entries to win first place in the 2004 Just Plain Folks Music Awards, Traditional Folk Song category. He also won nominations in the San Diego Music Award's "Best Acoustic Artist" category twice and "Best Adult Contemporary Recording" as well.
On 12/05/2004 Joe and his band recorded what is to become a classic live CD featuring 9 songs from his previous two studio efforts, and 11 previously unrecorded songs. It was an intimate, yet high energy evening, bristling with tension, emotion, positive vibes, and love. This superbly engineered double CD set captured all of the nuance, and power, that two acoustic guitars, bass, and drums can muster. The meaning of Joe's uplifting lyrics comes shining through over the bands grooves and textures. Joe's writing, singing, and intricate guitar arrangements, plus ripping solos by Dave Beldock on guitar, explosive yet subtly expressive drumming by Roger Friend, and rock solid bottom end by Paul Beach on bass, add up to make this one fine evenings listen.

Joe LoCascio Trio
A Charmed Life

Modern fluid swinging piano approach utilizing bitonality dissonance and extended harmonies

It is rare when you can put together three creative musicians and have them perform as if they were of one mind. The Joe LoCascio Trio (Ed Soph on drums and John Adams on bass) has been performing on this level since 1990. Their textures are multi-layered and complex and convey a strong sense of melody while interacting as an ensemble. Warm and powerful, wide and round in tone, and tastefully and suspensefully restrained in his timeless schooled lyricism, LoCascio's technique is definitively dramatic and lush. Choosing to temper his velocity in order to ring out the full depth of his tone, the timbre and gravity of his tone is given equal footing with his composition, thus enhancing and sustaining the emotion evoked by his choice of notes. This is the definition of Joe LoCascio's signature sound.

Laura Taylor and Joe Lano
Cry Me A River

A sultry tribute to Julie London with a special Laura Taylor composition for Julie combines the reverence for London's style with Laura's stylish interpretations.

The Laura Taylor Trio was ensconced in The Coctail Terrace in The Waldorf-Astoria for eight years, and also performed in Atlantic City and with the Laura Taylor Quartet at the Desert Inn Hotel in Las Vegas. Laura has performed in Carnegie Recital Hall, on The Merv Griffin Show, Midnight Special, The Dinah Shore Show, DiscoMagic, and Florida Emmy Awards. Laura sang The National Anthem in the Orange Bowl several times and for The Miami Dolphins award banquets. She has performed with the Nevada Jazz Orchestra, on radio from The Four Queens Hotel, and for benefits for The Las Vegas Philharmonic and The North Arkansas Symphony. She has been presented two Platinum Albums.

Joe DeChenne
Ride

An amazing first album from this newcomer from Washington. Truly a solo work of art that you must hear. Instantly likeable tunes. This guy's going all the way.

Making music is my way to leave a mark in this world, to have an impact on other people. This album, to me, represents a clearer picture of who I can be, as a writer, as a musician, as a human being. I guess that's why I decided to do all the tracks myelf. Hopefully that doesn't come across as selfish, but what you hear is just me. That alone gives me a real sense of accomplishment, and something tangible to leave behind.

I suppose the general concept of 'Ride' is the idea of going to that happy place, or existence in which you can be who you came here to be. I know now more than ever that I am here to make music, and if other people enjoy it too, then my satisfaction from it multiplies!

The songs on 'Ride' are a mixture of some very recent music, written within the past few months before going into the studio, and some others that have evolved to their current form in over a decade's time. I think because of that mixture, the record feels well rounded and complete.

Cool John Ferguson

Here is Cool John Ferguson, a previously uncelebrated musician, laying down tracks that led Grammy winner Taj Mahal to proclaim him one of the world's finest guitarists.

The legendary entertainer Taj Mahal says, "Cool John is among the five greatest guitarists I have heard in my career."

John was born on Saint Helena Island off the coast of South Carolina. His mother is of the Gullah people and John grew up with the old ways all around him

Born December 3, 1953, John has been playing the guitar since age three. At five he was playing church music professionally, often out-seating musicians ten times his age.

John has recently come to Pinnacle, North Carolina from his home in Beaufort, South Carolina to lend his talents to the efforts of Tim Duffy and the Music Maker Relief Foundation, performing on the national Winston Blues Revival Tour as a solo act and with artists Beverly "Guitar" Watkins, Carl Rutherford and Captain Luke both on the road and in the studio.
