Ronnie Baker Brooks-Golddigger

Ronnie Baker Brooks, not only sings with soulful fire and plays guitar with a white-hot intensity, he's also carrying the torch from the previous generation of soul and blues greats and moving the music into the future.

Golddigger is a hot, modern blues-rock CD, by Ronnie Baker Brooks (son of legendary blues recording artist Lonnie Brooks). The twelve original tracks, composed and arranged by Ronnie Baker Brooks was recorded in Memphis Tennessee and produced by Jellybean Johnson (who also produced Janet Jackson, Nona Hendrix, New Edition and others). Golddigger sets the tone for the new millennium of Blues. The CD features guest appearances by Lonnie Brooks (Make These Blues Survive) and Jellybean Johnson (Must've Been Bought). Golddigger is a soulful, powerful CD that leaves you begging for more.

Blues Revue Magazine
"...Brooks' singing is powerful and likable...His soloing conveys excitement...Open-eared listeners are advised to hop on the Ronnie Baker Brooks rocket early and catch a ride in the direction of blues yet to come".

Take Me Witcha

Ronnie Baker Brooks, not only sings with soulful fire and plays guitar with a white-hot intensity, he also carrying the torch from the previous generation of soul and blues greats and moving the music into the future.

TAKE ME WITCHA was produced by Ronnie Baker Brooks and production veteran Jellybean Johnson (The Time). The release features 15 original tracks, and was recorded at Angel Beach Studios in Minneapolis, MN and Cotton Row Studios in Memphis, TN.

TAKE ME WITCHA has an impressive list of guest performers. A landmark moment is captured with Ronnie’s Dad Lonnie Brooks, when the father and son perform a soulful acoustic song titled "I Laugh to keep from Crying". Jellybean Johnson also joins Ronnie on the rocking track, "Bring Back the Love" which sends a powerful message about today’s issues.

TAKE ME WITCHA showcases powerful performances from three outstanding rhythm sections: former New Power Generation’s (Prince) Michael Bland, Sonny Thompson, and Chance Howard (currently with Morris Day & The Time): Ernest Williamson, Dave Smith, and Steve Potts (from "Golddigger"): and Vic Jackson, Daryl Coutts, and Jerry Porter (Buddy Guy), Ronnie’s current touring band. Stephanie Bolton provides the soulful background vocal (Lenny Kravitz).

Hello, everybody! Doctor Mongo is my name. If you've heard me play, you know I love the Blues but there's more to my story. Friends and fans can check out the music here, look for upcoming performances on the gig calendar, buy CD's and download singles or leave a message on the guestbook.

Whether I'm playing at an outdoor festival, a roadhouse or around the campfire at a Mountain Man Rendezvous, you'll get a big dose of that Good Time Feelin', which is what I always prescribe!
