John Lester - So Many Reasons

Winner of the 2006 WCS International Songwriting Contest for "Best Jazz Song" (So Many Reasons) and "Best Humorous Song" (Beware La Merde).

John Lester's second studio CD "So Many Reasons" has been released. The CD marks a musical journey back to John’s jazz roots, coupled with his insightful lyrical sense and touching vocal delivery.

The CD features John on vocals and a cache of instruments: upright bass, 6-string fretless electric bass, 5-string electric bass, acoustic bass guitar and acoustic guitar. Most songs are presented in a band format, with sidemen including Theo Travis (UK) on sax and flute, Paulo Baldi (USA) on percussion and Steve Rossi (USA) on drums, with special guests Bob Johnson on sax (USA) and Bas van Lier (NL) on piano.

Gary Preston and Anita Bonkowski
Satisfy Somebody

What a wild little duo. Live and on disc, Gary and Anita get down on some good ol' blues, some funky New Orleans grooves, a couple of vintage jazz gems, and some of Gary's originals. Enjoy.

What a wild little duo! Live and on disc, they move from the intimacy you expect of a duo to a surprisingly big sound. Veteran bluesman Gary is a triple threat on vocals, keyboard and harmonica, while Anita provides the grooving combination of bass and percussion. Here they get down on a variety of good ol' blues, some funky New Orleans grooves, a couple of vintage jazz gems and some of Gary's original compositions. Enjoy!

Bobby Murray
Waiting For Mr. Goodfingers

Bobby has played guitar for Etta James for nearly 20 years. He is featured here on his second release with his own band.

Bobby's debut on No Cover. This is also the first recording of Bobby's new Detroit based band. Recorded at No Cover's Straight Ahead Studios, in between stints touring with Etta James, Frankie Lee and his own Bobby Murray Band. With four songwriters in the band, they have plenty of original material, which varies from jazzy blues instrumentals to funky hard-driving blues in the Freddie King style. Most of the songs on the CD are sung by Lenny Watkins; with Bobby, himself, doing vocals on "Conversation".

We are honored to work with Billy who played and recorded with the great Hank Ballard & The Midnighters for 25 years, played with Jackie Wilson, was a original member of the Falcons with Wilson Pickett and Sir Mac Rice, and also gave guitar lessons to the greatest guitarist of all time...none other than Jimi Hendrix!
