Mary Gauthier- Mercy Now

Mercy Now features 10 songs overflowing with beauty, raw emotion, and unflinching honesty. True American roots music.

Mercy Now
Biography

"I know in my heart that I should be dead. Most of my friends are dead. The way I lived, I had no respect at all for my own life. So I'm living on borrowed time -- and there's liberation in that."
-- Mary Gauthier

"Falling out of love is a dangerous thing/With its slippery slopes and its weighted wings/With its birds of prey circling overhead/Casting vulture shadows on barren beds ..."

She whispers over a trudge of bass drum and brushes on snare, a moan of low harmonica and slither of slide guitar ...

"Falling out of love is a treacherous thing/With its crucible kiss and its ravaged ring/With its holy whispers and labyrinth lies/Sacrilegious hungry sighs ..."

Carrie Webber
This Time

Acoustic pop with hints of pop country. Warm and inviting, a crystal clear voice that makes this CD perfect for Sunday morning coffee or any time you want to relax and enjoy...

Webber’s lyrics are brought to life by smooth vocals and a whiff of country with Rayl’s guitar/harmonica punch." - Danny Marroquin, OU Daily

Carrie Webber has been in music practically her entire life, but has only pursued it as a career for the past five years, first with the regional rock band, Hurricane Jane, and now she plays with local rock band, Revel, as well as with songwriting partner, Charlie Rayl, who co-produced this CD.

Robin Greenstein
Acousticness

Bonnie Raitt meets Carole King. A female James Taylor. funky folky pop music from this New Yorker who's a clinician for Martin Guitars, among other things...

Robin Greenstein is a multi-talented singer/songwriter from New York City. She is probably the best kept secret in contemporary acoustic music today. Her roots are in traditional folk: she plays both guitar & 5- string banjo, yet her music covers a wide range of styles and the full production is based around her accomplished acoustic guitar style. She's been compared with such greats as James Taylor, Karla Bonoff, Bonnie Raitt and Carole King. Growing up in the Motown and Beatles era, yet studying traditional folk music and classical guitar for many years have all helped form her musical style. In a typical set, between her own songs, you might hear a Gershwin standard, a Rev. Gary Davis blues or an old-timey banjo tune. Robin performs extensively in the college market and has been adding clubs and festivals to her venues.
