Abi Tapia is a singer/songwriter whose lyrically driven songs have been sparking acclaim all over the U.S. She writes vulnerable ballads that dissect what it means to be confused or struggling, punchy songs about the life of a girl rocker and, like any good folksinger, her repertoire would not be complete without a few songs from the road.
In January 2001, Abi independently released her first solo album, this life will be mine. The album features 12 new songs by Abi performed with a full band including her mom, Nancy Gamso, on clarinet and piccolo. Jeff Ciampa produced, engineered and played bass on the album, and brought Tony McClung and Jim Ed Cobbs on board to play drums and percussion. Songs on the album vary from straightforward country ballads like "Inside Your Songs" and "Oh, Susannah" to full-on rockers like "Motion Sickness" and "Mexico," but Abi's voice is always solidly her own, a thread of consistency that travels straight through the album.

Native Ohioan turned Seattle transplant, Holly started playing guitar in July of 1999 when, during her first east coast tour, her guitar player broke his hip before the first show on the tour.
Holly took his guitar, learned three chords, and finished her tour, finding that it was a blessing in disguise that her good friend was in excruciating pain.
In her first year on the acoustic music circuit, Holly was wowing national audiences at listening rooms from the Bitter End and Living Room in NYC, to Club Passim in Boston, to the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival in 2000, to the Tractor Tavern and Summer Nights at the Pier in Seattle.

In March of 2001, Steven was contacted by Producer/ Engineer Mark Howard (U2, Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, Peter Gabriel, Emmy Lou Harris..) who discussed making a full-length with the band at his new Los Angeles studio location. Less than a week later, the band found themselves in a mansion (the Paramour) in the Hollywood hills tracking their debut full-length with Mr. Howard. DEADMAN has since licensed the "Paramour" album to Lakeshore Records and was released nationally in March of 2002.
