Doug Hall Three Wishes
Uncanny lyricism and grace... modern harmonic and rhythmic vocabulary is very advanced... compositions combine delicious intricate detail.
Born into a musical family in Dallas, Texas, Doug Hall began studying piano at age six and made his orchestral debut performing the Mozart A-Major K 414 Piano Concerto with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra at age nine. At the age of twelve, he became interested in jazz, and for the next several years competed in classical piano competitions and performed with orchestras, including another performance with the Dallas Symphony at age fifteen, and at the same time writing compositions for his high-school jazz ensemble. After graduating early, he was awarded a Memorial Composition Scholarship from North Texas State University and entered college at age sixteen. Doug Hall has played with Dave Liebman, James Moody, Victor Wooten, Joe Farrell, Lee Konitz, Chet Baker and Bill Waltrous. He has recorded on Bob Beldon Ensemble’s “Music of Sting” for Blue Note, while his debut CD “Three Wishes” featuring Marc Johnson (bass) and Bruce Hall (drums) received positive feedback and critical acclaim

Joe LoCascio Close To So Far
A very modern utilizing bitonality, dissonance, and extended harmonies on piano
It is rare when you can put together three creative musicians and have them perform as if they were of one mind. The Joe LoCascio Trio (Ed Soph on drums and John Adams on bass) has been performing on this level since 1990. Their textures are multi-layered and complex and convey a strong sense of melody while interacting as an ensemble. Warm and powerful, wide and round in tone, and tastefully and suspensefully restrained in his timeless schooled lyricism, LoCascio's technique is definitively dramatic and lush. Choosing to temper his velocity in order to ring out the full depth of his tone, the timbre and gravity of his tone is given equal footing with his composition, thus enhancing and sustaining the emotion evoked by his choice of notes. This is the definition of Joe LoCascio's signature sound

Jonathan Poretz A Lot of Livin' to Do
Where Sinatra meets Torme, a quartet-backed collection of jazz swing and ballad vocals.
Some say he was born with a microphone in his hand. That would explain why Jonathan Poretz is so comfortable performing his brand of great American jazz standards to audiences large and small. Whether appearing in an intimate club or a large outdoor venue, Jonathan brings an electric energy to any stage he’s on, a talent he’s been cultivating since his early teens, when he sang professionally in bands that featured jazz greats including Charlie Shavers, Chuck Wayne and Joe Puma in his home town of New York City.
Blending the swinging vocal stylings of Sinatra, Torme, Bennett and Darin, Jonathan is equally comfortable performing with a trio or a 17-piece big band, putting his own unique stamp on every song he sings and every story he tells through the great American standard songbook.
