The Jim Seeley / Arturo O'Farrill Quintet
A swinging latin jazz session featuring principal players of New York Lincoln Center's Afro Cuban Jazz Orchestra When a composer is fortunate enough to have first class musicians to perform his material, and those musicians happen to be among his best friends... you know you just can't go wrong. Such is the case here.
Arturo, Andy, and Phoenix have worked together as the rhythm section for the Chico O'Farrill Afro Cuban Jazz Orchestra and the Jazz at Lincoln Center's Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra. After many years and gigs together, their familiarity with one another is obvious.

Joan Stiles Love Call
Classic New York large ensemble jazz in the 1950's / 60's BLUE NOTE style For her debut outing as a leader, pianist-composer-arranger Joan Stiles wanted to create a relaxed, loosely swinging vibe in the studio with a carefully chosen group of respected players on the New York scene. Assembling a dream band whose collective ensemble experience includes stints with Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Thad Jones/Mel Lewis, Benny Goodman and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, Stiles filters well-known standards through her own unique sensibilities with provocative reharmonizations, skillful voicings and an unerring sense of swing.
