Är 1 subwoofer med 2st element riktat mot olika håll ungefär som att ha 2st subwoofer i rummet ?

Nej, det bör betraktas som ett konstruktionssätt av en sub.

Största fördelen med att ha mer än en sub är att man lättare kan åstadkomma en jämnare drivning av rummet. Ett rum har ett utpräglat resonant/antiresonant beteende i lågbasen, och med drivning från flera ställen kan dessa effekter utjämnas en hel del.
För att göra det måste du kunna flytta runt dina ljudkällor (element) oberoende av varandra = okika lådor.
