Jag har att hört många av dom stora framstegen, dom som framstegen som blir "disruptive technologies", dom skapas där två olika nischer möts och tar ett gemensamt nästa steg.
En historia va ett kontrakt för ett varuhus i Afrika. Estetiskt och praktiskt inga konstigheter. Vettig budget. Ok materialval. Men energi-kraven för att hålla köpcentrat svalt var löjeväckande. Alla arkitekter/konstruktörer sa ja till alla aspekter, utom detta kravet.
En arkitekt sa ja. Men han hade ingen lösning.
Hur det kom sig, så kom han till slut i kontakt med nån biolog-filur. Dom samtalade. Pratade om allt. Arkitekten blev medbjuden ut för att uppleva biologi-prylar ute på fältet. Dom stannar vid en termitstack och biologen förklarar hur termiterna lever och hur dom funkar. Bland annat berättar hon (!) hur dom håller sitt "hus" kallt, genom att öppna och stänga ventiler som ger drag av luft genom rör som kyler/värmer termit-boet.
PANG.
Nytt sätt att kyla varuhuset. Tekniken appliceras och det hela funkar och är numera en ofta använd modell.
