It's
time for
complex sound fields so I fed the drive with
Infected Mushrooms
"Dancing with kadaffi". This record has been at Marten
Design earlier and I saw a little tension in Leif’s eyes when he saw
what I was doing.
Last time a friend of mine played it in the smaller listening
room so that the windows started to shake. This track gets better the
louder it is played. Come to think of it, all of "BP Empire" prosper
when the volume is cranked up.

There
is plenty of low frequency action with really rapid transients that
demand control from main amps. We are talking about two Thiel and
Partner 9,5" elements in each of the Coltranes. Control is the game to
make these types of records fly the way they should.
We couldn't believe the
base control that was achieved! Next to me sat "Drbob" from
HiFiforum.nu and he was equally stunned... The base control was amazing
and what was chiselled out by the setup was extremely detailed and in
focus. Nothing of the details or the focus was lost even when we played
at sound levels that might be illegal in some
countries.
The
only time the set up started to sound a little bit pushed was when we
played at ear deadening sound levels. It started to sound a little bit
harsh but You couldn't listen to it any way, it was way to loud |

The
vinyl prototype that Vitus Audio brought |
I've
saved the best to last!
Vinyl, didn't I mention something about
that?
Oh Yes I did and the word that
springs to my mind is magic.
The vinyl sound that was achived by the set up was nothing else but
stunning. The CD-source had to see it self distanced in a grueling way.
The sound that flowed from the set up was so vibrant with life and that
it was hard to belive. There is no doubt that I listened to
my new vinyl reference.

It was two very pleasant and fun days at Marten Design and the guests
that took the time to come listen, even though this was one of the firt
really nice and sunny spring days in Gothenburg, got to listen to
something out of the ordernary.
