Jag tycker att DS-Audios teknik med led-baserade pickuper bör nämnas.
Man ser inte så stor skillnad på utsidan, men det är en helt nytt vägval från en mycket gammal teknik med magnet/spole.
Pickupen är analog. men nålröret är fäst vid en bländare som skärmar av en ljusstråle analogt med nålens rörelse.
Fördelen ligger i att den rörliga massan hålls mycket låg.

Som den fotografiska ljudremsan på vissa filmer... ljudet fick styra exponeringen av en smal remsa av filmen, vilken efter framkallning återskapade ljudet med en lampa och en fotocell.

Att klämma in tekniken i en pickup är inte en dum idé alls.

Men finns det inte vinylspelare som läser spåren med ljus utan fysisk kontakt?
